In God We Still Trust

Bio for "In God We Still Trust"

In 2003, Rob LeClair, President of HolyBears, Inc. (www.holybears.com), contracted with the reknowned songwriting duo of Bill and Kim Nash (www.nash3.com) to write and produce songs for the HolyBears animated children's video series. Rob told Bill and Kim he wanted to include a song on the HolyBears' CD that addressed the issue of God in America today, as at the time there were numerous lawsuits and disputes regarding the Ten Commandments, Pledge of Allegiance, school prayer, Nativity scenes, etc. Sort of a new anthem for Christians in America.

After the lyrics were completed, the song was recorded at a private studio in Nashville featuring some of the most talented musicians in the world, including Jimmy Nichols (Musical Director for Reba McEntire and Faith Hill), Spady Brannon (bass), Tommy Harden (Reba's drummer), and Kerry Marx (Grand Ole Opry).

Bill and Kim's good friend and Opry Hall of Famer Ray Pillow loved the song and dropped a copy of it in Marty Roe's mailbox one day, and the rest is history. Diamond Rio went on to record the song and include it on their Greatest Hits II album. They have received a standing ovation every single time they have performed it in public.

Diamond Rio did not perform the first verse of the song. You can find Bill Nash's version with the full original lyrics here:

A note of gratitude is also due to well-known Nashville producer Jerry Crutchfield of Crutchfield Music for his support of this great song.
